TELOS ART – Older Adults Program takes place at retirement communities, assisted living residences, convalescent facilities, and adult day centers throughout San Francisco Bay Area. The classes are specifically designed and tailored to students of all different skill levels, with special curricula appropriate for individuals with various physical and cognitive abilities. A professional Artist-Instructor will come to your facility to conduct the weekly classes, with all required art materials and supplies necessary for the specific class and project requested. No previous art experience or training is necessary to participate in the class.
The year-long Older Adults Program meets weekly for 1.5-hour studio class, allowing students to establish a routine, learn at their own pace, and create artworks on a continuous basis. An average number of 8-15 regular attending students per class ensures all student will receive adequate attention and appropriate instruction from the instructor to address their specific needs.
The class curriculum covers subject matters such as color theory, perspective, shading/light and shadow, composition, landscape, figure, portraiture, abstract art, etc. The students will also have the opportunity to explore different media including pencil, color pencil, pen and ink, oil pastel/crayon, watercolor, collage, and more. Types of class/project offered depend on instructor availability.
An art exhibition of selected works at the conclusion of the year-long program will be on display at the facility to celebrate the incredible artistic talent and hard work by the participating students. The exhibition and reception event serve as a fantastic opportunity for the facility to present the innovative programming they offer, and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in services.
